Kiosk Experience Project
In this project, I had the opportunity to design a tablet kiosk and digital menu system for the Roc Pho Shop, a small local restaurant near RIT that serves students and local residents. Their current process relies on traditional paper menus and waitstaff taking orders, which can be time-consuming and prone to errors due to the customizable nature of Pho dishes. By introducing tablet kiosks and optional QR code table ordering, this design aims to streamline the ordering process, reduce errors, and improve efficiency while maintaining the flexibility of the traditional menu.
1. Workflow Diagrams
The kiosk workflow begins with customers choosing their preferred way to enter the order system. They are directed to the menu page, where they can navigate through food categories to browse dishes, customize sides and sauces, and view their shopping cart. After finalizing their order, customers select their preferred dining option (dine-in or takeout). Based on their selection, they are either directed to a payment option or provided with an order number to pay after finishing their meal. This streamlined process ensures clarity and convenience for all users.



2. High-Fidelity Wireframes
These wireframes focus on functionality and layout, ensuring clarity in how users interact with the system. They serve as the foundation for testing and refining the user experience before moving into my final design phase.





3. Prototype
The prototype demonstrates the functionality and user interface of the Roc Pho Shop kiosk. The tablet system enables customers to browse the menu, customize their orders, and complete transactions seamlessly.
4. Project Reflection
Working on this project was an exciting opportunity to bring real-world impact to a small, local restaurant. Designing the kiosk interface pushed me to think creatively about how to make the ordering process more efficient and enjoyable for customers. It was rewarding to tackle the challenge of balancing functionality with user-friendliness while addressing the unique needs of Roc Pho Shop. Through testing and refining the design, I gained valuable insights into real-world workflows and accessibility in UI/UX design. This experience deepened my appreciation for the power of design to improve everyday experiences, and it has inspired me to continue creating meaningful, user-focused solutions.
